Skardu Valley
Located in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, is the Skardu Valley. The valley is 40 km in length and 10 km in width. It is located where the Shigar and Indus rivers converge. The vast Karakoram Range and the Himalayas encircle it. It is a popular tourist destination in Pakistan because of the surrounding lakes and mountains. Baltistan's principal town, Skardu, is located on the broad bank of the Indus River. The Northern Areas' largest district is Skardu. Some of the world's highest peaks, including Skardu in the Karakoram Range, are found in Baltistan and are a popular destination for mountaineering expeditions.
