Munro Track
H78W+CVM, Jabori, Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Munro Track (1900 - 1905) is a 66 KM long old, British Era route traversing different valleys, forests & ridges of mountains of Mansehra District (KPK) in Pakistan. A few months back KPK Government of Pakistan announced to revive this track for purpose of hiking, trekking & camping and established 'Tourist Villages' along the route. The track starts and ends at old British-era forest rest houses, from Kund Bangla and Kamal Ban Rest House. The track starts from Kundu Bangla from the top of the mountains at an altitude of 2250m. The passes from the beautiful ridge of the mountains connecting two valleys, Siren and Kaghan, Galis/Passes, Nadi Bangla, Naga Forest, Mali Meadows, Sharran forest, Manshi Top, and Kamal Ban Forest.
There are two options to attempt Munro Track.
Option 1: (Team A) Advance/long-distance athletes will go for 45km from Kund Bangla to Naga Village via Nadi Bangla and Back to Nadi Bangla. From Kund to Naga distance is almost 34km and from Naga to Nadi Bangla distance is almost 13km and downhill. There are many benefits to go for option 1 instead of Kund Bangla to Nadi Bangla and Back to Kund Bangla.
a. More than half of the Munro Track route we’ll cover in a single go.
b. After Nadi Bangla if someone continues and in midway doesn’t feel good/tired he/she can come back to Nadi Bangla where Team B and jeeps will arrive.
Option 2: (Team B) Intermediate/Beginner athletes will go for 21km from Kund Bangla to Nadi Bangla. It’ll be very easy to cover the distance even at a walking/hiking pace which is easily possible. So, option 2 is for intermediate/beginner athletes who are interested to attempt the track. Team B will wait for Team A at Nadi Bangla.
