Haramosh I

Haramosh Peak, sometimes referred to as Haramosh or Peak 58, is a mountain in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan's Karakoram range. There are at least 8,000 people living in the Haramosh Valley. It is frequently said to be 7,409 meters high. Approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) east of Gilgit, in the south-central region of the Rakaposhi-Haramosh Mountains—a subrange of the Karakoram range—is Haramosh Peak. Situated close upstream from the Indus River's confluence with the Gilgit River, this peak rises sharply above the river's north bank.

The two principal summits of the Haramosh massif are Haramosh Peak and Haramosh Kutwal Laila Peak. In 1958, Heini Roiss, Stephan Pauer, and Dr. Franz Mandl led an Austrian team that successfully ascended the Haramosh Peak for the first time.
