To embark on the Arang Kel cable car adventure, you have a couple of options: either use your own vehicle or book a jeep. A jeep can accommodate 7 to 8 people, and the cost is Rs10,000 if you're not planning to stay overnight in Arang Kel. However, if you intend to spend the night, the jeep fare increases to Rs15,000, and it will transport you back to Sharda. You can arrange for jeeps in Sharda. Upon arrival, you'll encounter two parking areas, one at the lower level and the other higher up. The parking fee is Rs200 if you're not staying overnight, and it's Rs400 for an overnight stay. Before you can access the cable car, there's a short 10-minute hike. Keep in mind that on weekends, there might be a waiting line. Only one male from your group needs to wait in line; the rest, including females, can sit. The guard will allow only 8 people to go upstairs at a time, and the return ticket for the cable car is only Rs250. Before your turn comes, you'll need to submit your CNIC card to an army officer. Afterward, you'll find another waiting room where you'll patiently wait for your turn to board the cable car.If hunger strikes, there are refreshments available, including burgers and French fries. Your turn to board the cable car can come up in 2 to 3 hours depending on how many people are in the queue. It's advisable to start this adventure during daylight hours. However, in the event that your turn comes late and it's after 6pm, you will have to hike in the dark because there are no lights on the other side. To overcome this, make sure to bring torches or use your phone flashlights for illumination. After reaching the other side, you'll have a short 5-minute walk ahead of you. From there, it's a 30 to 60-minute hike, depending on your pace. Remember to travel light, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and consider renting a hiking stick for Rs50.
